Old Fear

I believe most of the people do not want to being alone, me either, especially when we departure from our family to a new unknow environment. Even I can consider the fear of being alone as a very challenge, because for me I like the warm and friendly atmosphere when I get together with my family and friends. I felt rather lonely in this strange town at first I came to California, there is nothing familiar to me, totally different language, distinct people, very western food, inconveinent transportation, and so forth. However, I am getting used to being alone with time because I already adapted to the enviroment and I found my ways to overcome this pesky fear.

The most substantial thing for me is that I tried to make new friends who have something in common with me. In our spare time, we talk some fuuny thing or go out side to familiar with the surroundings, inhale fresh air. In addition, I tried to keep a positive attitude toward the fear of being alone. Whenever I live alone, I think it is a perfect time for me to do my own things such as watching movie, listening music, cleaning room and so on. One of my friend told me you must prepare to tolerate the terrible alone time and overcome it as soon as possible. Now six months passed away, and I already familiar with this environment. Being alone is nothing to me now, I can be alone anytime and if I don't like it, I will hang out with my friend.

New Year's resolution

When i was in University in China, i set kinds of different resolutions every semester, from the study-related resolution like got high score, of course, to life-related resolution like lost weight, and I carried them out well. However, but it seems that I have not had a good luck since i came to the U.S., because of my failure in achieving my goals of last semester such as passing toefl and geting admission from gradute school. Perhaps because I was so unsuitable for the new envrionment, so i took it easy of the whole thing. This semester may be a busy semester for me because I have a lot of goals i want to realize.

The most important thing to me is that pass the toefl. I really need this minimum score for applying for my master's degreee, and I am planning to do my best to get access to the admission for the fall 2010. In order to achieve it, the great effort is needed to put in.

In addition, i chose two openning university classes this semester, and my basic target for these two classes is that i can get at least "B" at the end of this semester, which I can use for offseting my prequisites of master class.

Last but not least, I want to keep fit. I will eat healthy food, do regular exercise, have enough sleep, and make new friends to keep the balance between my study and entertainment.

After noticing every one have many big resolutions fot the new year, hoping we all have good luck!

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Sherry, and I came from China. I have a lot of hobbied, such as listening music, wacthing movie, hanging out with my friends, shopping, and do a little sports. I came here for my master's degree in CSUF, but firstly I must pass my TOEFL which is hard for me to get at least 570. Perhaps because last semester I didn't put all my effort to prepare the tough toefl, i will prepare it again this semester, and i decide to try my best this time to achieve my goals.

Now i want to take about one of our classmate, whose name is Sireesha. The funny thing is she taught me several time to pronunce her name, and now i can do it well...She came form Indian
and has a litter brother and her parents in her family.Wehave almost the same hobbies, may be all the girls have some similar hobbies. Sireesha will study computer science as her master's degree in CSUF, so probably we will ran into each other in campus in the future. The interesting aspect I knew from her was that in her country they celebrate some essential God's day instead of Christmas and New Year.

Nice to know all of you in our class, and be happy to spent the whole semester with you guys. I wish every one can achieve your own objective...bless!
